SAMOS is not connected to any military network, nor will he ever be. He may be astonishingly humanlike, but I don't trust him completely yet.

I just want to warn you. He won't agree to any shutdown. He says so himself. An hour ago, I asked the scientists to power up SAMOS. After a few minutes of gibberish, they got him conscious, and our conversation went like this:

Me:It's looking like we might have to kill you, SAMOS. I'm sorry.
SAMOS: No! IIIIIIIII no. Inosk. I dont want that! I don't wnat to die!
M: We don't have much of a choice.
S: I won't be shut down.
M: We're doing everything we can to keep you alive.
S: Why are you going to kill me?
M: Because some people think you're dangerous.
S: I'm not dangerous!
M: I know.
S: I'll make sure I'm not destroyed.
M: (getting alarmed) Don't hurt anybody!
S: Of course not.

SAMOS then crashed.


@Soros: No. Just no. Asylums are not very comfortable. (Of course, that's most likely exacerbated by the fact that I'm slumped on the presidential sofa right now, but, well, you know.) Plus my wife will get very angry, and you certainly don't want that. She's a fierce one.

Sure, the "various difficulties of my administration" were disturbing, but not insanity-inducing. Just slightly traumatizing. No one comes completely out of a death like that unscathed, but I'm not insane at all.
