"Today, Capitalism and the free market, have won once again!" Said Viktor Kasik at his victory speech earlier today. For several months, the country had been in disarray after the Nulendbund Workers Party started several riots and managed to take control over the country. Viktor Kasik plotted to bring Democracy back in his Secret bunker located under a Beef farm.
"I did what all Democratic leaders do to get back into power." Viktor told us, "I put a lot of people in my pocket and got them to start a new election!" Viktor, of course, being loved throughout the country for his reforms and handling of the Hippostanian Crisis is what helped lead to his re-election.
"Now that I am back in office, I think I am going to sit down and have a nice, juicy Nulendbund Beef Co. Steak!"
Democracy is a steak we can all take a bite of Kasik, now that you brought it back!

Well, depends on whose standards you go by.
In Ocasus, Nulend meat is banned on grounds that "Each Nulend Steak's levels of toxins is enough to take a year of your life." interestingly enough.

Shortly after the revolution we were having severe food shortages as the farmers rather burned their crops than letting their farms be collectivised. To produce meat you have to feed the animals, and they will consume more energy than the energy that the meat would yield. Hence to eat meat when there's both a food shortage and economical crisis would be very, very efficient. Now that our country has recovered we still stick to the compulsory vegetarianism, both as a tradition and to keep our crops to the humans.

Just to warn you Soros, there have been recorded cases of protein and muscle deficiency in prolonged vegetarianism.

We're fully aware of the health complications that may follow an insufficient vegetarian diet, but do not worry. The state supplies the population with food packages that include all the necesarry nutrients for a functional vegetarian diet.
