On the great eagle there was The Warden one member of the Majestic 12 along with 5 pilots to operate the systems today was important they were to avenge the great owls loss soon they were over Hippostannias Military machine they commenced procedure and dropped the payload over them a white flash was seen as over 100 thousand troops were killed while blinding even more
Our intelligence reports show that something bad is going to happen to the Great Eagle within the next few minutes. Stand by.

The Jeniferian War - Page 2 AdMinDef

18th March, 2011 , 18:32 (Central Mean Time) / Administratum Space Vessel Hyperion, maintaining low-Earth orbit over Sermo, Earth.

The effects of the two munitions packages engaging the Owl had been impressive, even more-so considering just how quickly the damn thing had slipped underneath the coast, mildly radioactive and now with several sections reduced to little more than slag. It was a beautiful sight really, a perfect kill-shot upon a piece of engineering that must’ve taken years at the very least… And they’d done it.

They couldn’t just sit there and amid the steaming wreckage though, Sensors kept his station operational and watching for any form of reply from the Jeniferian nation, they never knew if they might attempt a launch against them after all. In order to defend itself, the Hyperion wasn’t forced to rely upon the four 20mm CIWS systems dotted equidistant about the prow, but capable of employing the same devasting ‘Casaba-Howitzer’ systems which made up half it’s offensive capability to slag any incoming projectile short of a asteroid.

It was because of this, that Sensors managed to pick up a rather large aerial object proceeding in the direction of their allied forces, the sort of thing which seemed like it would be a rather hard kill using regular surface-to-air weaponry. He passed it onto Weapons again, who seemed rather happy with the chance of adding yet another kill to their tally, especially upon what seemed to be the aerial equivalent of their last target.

“Warbook’s saying she’s the ‘Great Eagle’, reportedly an aerial CIC, possibly integral AWACs capability. We’ve not really got many details upon her apart from that, and that she’s apparently nuclear-capable.”

The Executive Officer’s heart went cold as he read the last line, nuclear-capable and heading towards what they’d see as hostile forces…

“Set up a snap-shot on that thing, I want every damn casaba-tube focussed upon that thing before it deploys weapons. Intel, try to get an estimate for it’s IP, give us some form of ETA, I want to get a second salvo on that thing.”

Orders came thick and fast, yet this was what they’d trained for, what the simulations had covered, swatting the inbounds before the ground-pounders took the hits…

The two weapons bays facing away from the earth slid open, casaba-tubes undergoing their standard load cycle and rotating to point outwards. A few seconds were spent debating the possibility of engaging with the 5-inch turret, but that was generally considered as ineffective at this range.

Calculations were confirmed, all six tubes primed and the specific RCS thruster adjustments confirmed within each of the payloads – especially the four in tubes one, two, five and six. The order went out, six munitions packages roared into the vacuum, manoeuvred to orientate upon the target…

Six minute suns blossomed for a second.

Six beams of hard-radiation spat down through the skies, each an incandescent beam of death barely visible to the naked eye.

Two of these were aimed squarely upon the Great Eagle as she released her payload, while the other four near misses rained the x-rays and various other biproducts of their initiation upon the Jeniferian lines.

Already the tubes were undergoing their reload cycle, secondary firing solutions were being prepared for follow up engagements, and the Commanding Officer was calling back to Central for permission to release his own nuclear ordnance.Meanwhile, the Hyperion remained ready to engage, with Sensors already at work searching for the next ‘superweapon’ to emerge from the Jeniferian arsenal, so they could obliterate it.

I explicitly said that I was against the further use of nuclear weaponry and you went ahead and did it.
This is unforgiveable. Our relations with Hippostania and Avinstratus have been severely damaged.
As such, we refuse to make any dicussions and negotiations with these nations until they improve their relations.

The use of radioactive weaponry on ground targets is unacceptable. It causes more radioactivity to leach into the environment than an air or sea target. Yes, Jeniferia needs to get taken out, but you must not destroy the land you wish to take. Dissipans terram ad perdendum ipsum.

The Commonwealth of Telekarta also finds your use of hard radiation weaponry against both ground and sea targets abhorrent.

Not only that, we think the fact you consistently keep vessels in space that can use nuclear weaponry against any country should you desire, not only worrying, but disgusting.

Space should be free territory, not your personal nuclear playground.

Everyone. Jeniferia has launched ebola missiles towards my capital, killing thousands. I had to relocate my capital to Waverley. Then they attempted to nuke us! Luckily Administatus's flagship saved our nation from certain destruction.

You should thank Administratus instead of complaining. At this point, we have to unite all our efforts against Jeniferia. We can't fight over things like enviromental protection or who owns the space when we're at the brink of oblivion.

In response to the horrific use of biological weaponry against Hippostania, the International Security Board of Telekarta has placed twelve long range DA-14 bombers on alert for immediate use against Jeniferia if the need arises.

Similarly, all five of Telekarta's nuclear missile silos have been readied, and are now response-capable.

Finally, Anti Ballistic Missile systems have been activated across the entire country, ready to defend against any possible launches against Telekarta.

Hippostanian Army approaches Jeniferian capital city
Hippostanian Army's 1st, 2nd and 3rd Armies continue to march towards Holdings, the capital city of Jeniferia. Resistance has been relatively light due to the almost total destruction of Jeniferian Air Force, and severed communications. General Walter Simmons expected that the troops are going to reach the capital area within the next 24 hours unless something unexpected occurs.

The Jeniferian War - Page 2 RSB42Sig

18th March, 2011 , 2157 hrs (Novian Mean Time) / 17th Avinistratus Regional Air Group, 1st Strike Wing, 242nd ‘Perfect Prowler’ Squadron, Helix Flight, Helix-Two - Part of Avinistratus Aircraft currently passing over Jursholm, enroute to Jeniferia.

“Helix this is Kilo-Actual. We’re approaching Caen’s RV, any sign of them? We’ve got the fuel, but you’re going to have to bingo soon unless they turn up.” The lead element of callsign Kilo – the 52nd ‘Charbydis Cats', a squadron of RSB-42s carrying the cruise missiles for this op – called in, making sure that the AVAF wouldn’t end up with two squadrons worth of Strike Rapiers calling empty over a foreign country.

“Don’t you worry Kilo, Helix-Actual here, and we’ve got plenty of big-fat-friends up ahead on the radar, we’ll tank up, and don’t you worry your little hearts off, ‘kay?” Abit informal, but the two-seated Strike Rapiers lacked the amenities of the larger RSB-42 strategic bombers, however they had the advantages of speed, and stealth. Instead, the RSB-42s were to be relied upon for the rather respectable payload each could carry, in this case it summed up to a pair of rotary launchers with six Tomahawk cruise missiles stowed away in each, making a total of twelve aboard each bomber and a solid hundred and twenty amid the entire squadron.

“Kilo-Actual confirms, good to see that we’ll have the pleasure of your company for awhile longer Helix, enjoy your piss tubes.” With a parting comment of fighter-bomber spite, the com-channels went silent, in anticipation of first contact with the tanker-jockeys up ahead. Silence reigned for a few minutes, until finally the extended V of five KC-10s, all agleam with navigations lights.

“Caen-Actual this is Helix-Actual, got any fuel for us thirsty jets? We’d rather not have to drop our ordnance early, what with the cost on these lil’ bunker busters and all, not to mention environmental concerns…” His voice tailed off as he checked his fuel state.

“Helix-Actual, good to see you’ve joined the war, you’re clear to tank and we’ll be here ‘till morning.” The single line was enough to begin the process of refuelling all twenty-four of the FB-22 Strike Rapiers, ready to take the war into Jeniferia, and the homes of those who began it.

18th March, 2011 , 2241 hrs (Novian Mean Time) / 17th Avinistratus Regional Air Group, 3rd Bomber Wing, 52nd ‘Charbydis Cats' Squadron, Kilo Flight, Kilo-One - Part of Avinistratus Aircraft currently passing over Deltaniana, enroute to Jeniferia.

“We’re coming up on the IP lads, check your ordnance, because I don’t want to see any misfires out there.” He paused, looking across to his co-pilot, ensuring that all twelve of the cruise missiles were ready and armed. A quick thumbs up signalled all well, ready to deploy.

Avinistratus had seemed committed when they’d flown over the border, his threat indicators bleeping away with all the search and fire control radars not only from the aroused and war-ready SAM sites, but the various flights of combat air patrols up and ready to be vectored in upon any counter attack.

The squadron of strategic bombers under his command wouldn’t have to worry too much about that, not with the range between them and Jeniferia, their cruise missiles outranged any remaining air-defences after their allies bombing campaign and subsequent invasion. Thus all they had to do was loose away, then turn around and go home while the missiles homed in upon their targets.

“Check master-arm, open payload bay doors.” Across the squadron, twenty-four bomb bays opened themselves to the cold night air, rotary ordnance racks spinning up to release their weapons.

“IP reached, all craft release your ordnance.” And with that, twelve separate trigger-clicks began the process of releasing a hundred and twenty Tomahawk cruise missiles into the night sky, the flame from their rockets adding a series of shooting stars to the darkness as the 52nd turned for home.

The dark silhouettes of the 242nd ‘Perfect Prowlers' swept onwards through the twilight, increasing their speed now that they no longer had a series of lumbering bombers to take care of, Jeniferia was their target.

The cruise missiles ahead of them didn’t care what their target was, all they knew was that they were to reach a specific point, then distribute their varied payloads across the area – everything from cluster munitions to high-explosives and even air-dropped mines. All that was to be spread across various Jeniferian military positions tonight, a far less discrete target than the Prowlers would hit.

18th March, 2011 , 2317 hrs (Novian Mean Time) / 17th Avinistratus Regional Air Group, 1st Strike Wing, 242nd ‘Perfect Prowler' Squadron, Helix Flight, Helix-Two - Part of Avinistratus Aircraft currently over Jeniferian airspace, enroute to target.

He was going to make history, wasn’t he?

Twelve Men.

Assume a primary point of meeting, a secondary, a point of residence and an emergency secure bunker for each.

Forty-Two targets, some of those overlapped, so aircraft could be re-assigned to hit possible governmental locations rather than just underground bunkers.

As such, there were twenty-four Strike Rapiers at work tonight, each with a rather hefty payload. Two Earth Penetrating Weapons each.

The Earth Penetrating Weapon was the logical advancement upon the regular concept of a bunker buster, combining the penetrating capability of the modern weapons, with the ‘earthquake bomb’ effect of the original Grand Slam and Tallboy.

How did they complete that earthquake effect?

The tone rang in his ears as he came over the point, the backseater pulled the trigger and the Strike Rapier lurched as the heavy laser-guided bomb fell free, following a laser so helpfully provided by the ASV Hyperion in orbit above.

The bomb split the sky as though it was a knife, tearing through the atmosphere – and into the ground…

Whumpf.

Gravity seemed to defy itself, the ground for a mile around momentarily leaping into the sky as though lit by an eerie light from below, then it settled, subsiding into a small crater which took several buildings with it.

There was a reason they used the term ‘Earth Penetrating Weapon’ rather than the payloads actual rather more controversial terminology.

The event was repeated forty-one times across the nation, all upon targets were the intelligence services had pinpointed the Majestic 12 as likely to be.

A dozen sleek, black craft fly almost silently high above the clouds over southern Jeniferia. They keep to a tight V formation, each pilot expertly adjusting the controls to prevent his or her plane from drifting too far out of the assigned flight pattern.

Idle chatter drifts over the radio from plane to plane.

"Over there boys, looks like someone's started the bombing runs. Stay high, keep payload locked. T-1 out." The pilot of the lead plane cranes his head to look out the window, watching the war torn landscape of Jeniferia fly past beneath the plane.

Fires, dust clouds, buildings shredded, and he almost thought he could see bodies, even though from that height that would be damn near impossible.

"We're getting some intel on the bombings, looks like the Administratus went in and took out forty two supposed enemy bunkers."

"What, they didn't leave any for us? T-7 out." The pilot of the trailing, left hand craft complained.

"Doesn't look like it, mate. Whatever they hit those bunkers with sure ripped the scenery apart, hate to be in one of those things when it went up. T-5 out."

"Okay, since our targets just went up in a coupla' balls of nuclear fury, maintain a holding pattern around this area. Not for long, just keep your eyes peeled in case anything develops. T-1 out."

The sleek craft start to break away from each other, beginning to patrol over a small part of the country below.

Brigade General William Anderson was the leader of the 17th Armored Brigade, and was directing the attack against Northern Holdings. In less than 10 hours, they had managed to reach the outskirts of the capital city and beyond. Only Holdings and a small part of Southern Jeniferia wasn't under Hippostanian control.
Anderson was amazed at the amount of surrendering Jeniferian soldiers. When they fought in Cyprocor and Northern Jeniferia, the soldiers would've rather died than surrendered. The POW's that they captured back there could be counted with one's fingers. But now, hundreds of soldiers were surrendering to Hippostanian troops. Was it the hunger, desperation, severed communications that caused this men to abandon the Jeniferian Army, Anderson did not know. But he strongly suspected that it was because they had surrounded the capital city and the goverment of Jeniferia, called ''Majestic 12'' had most likely been killed in bombing runs.

Anderson continued to approach the city with the M1 Abrams's, M2 Bradleys and Humvees in his disposal. It was only a matter of hours before they captured Holdings.

The Jeniferian War - Page 2 Empty Operation Gladius

Post  Avin Triumvirate Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:30 am

The Jeniferian War - Page 2 AVAF-C17

19th March, 2011 , 0450 hrs (Novian Mean Time) / 1st Avinistratus Airborne Brigade, 1st Infantry Battalion, A Company, 3rd Platoon, Alpha Section Actual - Part of Avinistratus Airborne Forces advancing upon the Jeniferian border.

“All hands, prepare to drop!”

The call rang throughout the C-17s cavernous cargo hold, rousing over a hundred troops who’d withstood several hours amid the uncomfortable pallets of the bay, there was plenty that could be improved for the comfort of the troops, but that wasn’t what they were here for after all.

There was to be fourteen planes in this first drop, totalling just over a thousand infantry ready to fling themselves into the night, ten Stryker Mobile Gun Systems and a pair of Strykers operating in the role of mortar carriers to provide indirect fire support.

The role of the 1st Airborne Brigade in Jeniferia wasn’t to win a war – that would happen no matter how much Avinistratus Command deployed to the area, instead it was to provide a flanking element to contain what could be a pocket of remaining Jeniferian forces, trying to hold out the firestorm covering the rest of the country.

Of course, that plan didn’t seem to have worked out too well, as mere hours before the RSB-42s had dropped a good few dozen Tomahawks into this region, clearing the path for the paratroops which would be dropping in throughout the day. In total, Command had assigned the first three Airborne brigades, meaning over fifteen thousand troops and nearly two-hundred armoured vehicles all in all for this operation.

The front row of soldiers – the command element of course – nearest the ramp seemed to stiffen, then the ramp of the Globemaster dropped, and they could see the planes stretched out behind them in the early morning gloom. The light flickered from red to green, a cry went up from the load-master, and they were off.

Out from the ever so slightly comfortable cargo-bay, into the roaring night… The wind rushing past, the flashes from the ground below – combat? Delayed ordnance? Airstrikes? – and sudden jerk – his chest being squeezed around him as the chute was dragged free from his pack by the pilot release.

One person amid a thousand, and if he looked just right… There! The oversized pallets laden with several tons of armoured vehicle, sliding free from the Globemasters to support the rather more vulnerable infantry. Part of his mind wondered if they would survive long enough to be picked up once they hit the ground, if the Jeniferian military hadn’t just hunkered under and awaited a supporting aerial assault…

He wiped those thoughts from his mind, ground was coming up hard now.. Better prepare, roll with the landing…

Bloodyhellitalwaysfeckinghurts!

Release chute, bring up the good ol’ L85, scan for targets, where was he exactly?

Field? Maybe… They were rather deep in the country, and they’d had to get somewhere clear enough to drop in the Strykers without accidentally landing on roofs and all the ridiculous shit that came with cities. His Section should be dropping in anytime now… More crunches, cut off curses and bloody swearing. That was it ‘Ey up lads!

Right now their aim was to spread out, secure a perimeter while the Battalion gathered itself together, then they could be off to begin the process of sealing and containing a whole section of countryside. It wouldn’t be easy, but that was why a drop was scheduled once every hour for the next fourteen hours, until everyone was down.

Operation Gladius was underway.

We have no intentions to go to war with Avinstratus. They're our allies, and I'm sure that they're not going to annex that piece of land or anything. We already have a plan regarding the fate of Jeniferia.

Hippostanian troops reached the Baelgarian troops earlier today. They were greeted by the Baelgarian Army. It was a happy day for the both armies.

UPDATE
The last piece of land not under Hippostanian control is the city center of Holdings. The garrison defending the city is starting to get tired and a major attack will take place in the next few minutes. Here's the battle plan.

Also, today at midnight GMT, Republic of Hippostania will annex all Jeniferian territory north of the 23th Parallel. Tens of thousands of Hipponians, civilians and soldiers alike have died in the Jeniferian attacks and we consider it fair that we get these areas under our control. We are also discussing the possibility of temporarly annexing Cyprocor or at least a small corridor leading to Northern Jeniferia, as the entire country has been reduced to rubble and their entire goverment and armed forces have been destroyed.

OOC: I used the map of Harare, capital of Zimbabwe for the battle plan, and I was too lazy to change street names. So don't ask about ''Robert Mugabe Street'' Very Happy

Preparations for the annexation of southern Jeniferia has already begun. Baelgarian troops will support your holdings attack wherever neccessary.

The New Democracy of Sekkisi strongly opposes the annexation of Cyprocor. It is a neutral nation that has been blighted by reckless Hippostanian action and has devastated the environment for years.

As such, we propose that Sekkisi take responsibility over Cyprocor as a nation that remained neutral in the war, and use its resources to as best recover Cyprocor to its former state.

The Commonwealth of Telekarta also strongly opposes the fact that Hippostania would attempt to annex Cyprocor to 'restore it', when in fact, it was the reckless use of Hippostanian nukes against Cyprocor that brought it to it's current state.

We are with Sekkisi, on this one; combined aid efforts by neutral countries will be better than your ham-fisted attempt at annexation.
