I, Grand Administrator Crude Oil of the Administration of Baclav, hereby suggest the creation of a defensive pact. This to ensure stability amongst the region in years to come.

Official resolution

Assemble First Sermo defensive pact

Resolution SS#006

Proposed by the United Socialist States of Balcav

RECOGNIZING the approval of the Sermo regional delegate.

RECOGNIZING rising threat from certain extremist nations.

BELIEVING that harm may befall on stability of the region from such nations

NOTING extremist behaviour such as genocide of populace, native or not, is unacceptable in a region with ideals such as that of Sermo.

ADDING THAT this is BACLAV'S own DEFINITION of an EXTREMIST NATION, YOU or ANY OTHER NATION are NOT EXPECTED or FORCED to DEFINE this as YOUR OWN.
HOWEVER, YOU ARE EXPECTED to ASSUME this DEFINITION as the DEFINITION this RESOLUTION EMPLOYS.-- 16/03/2011

RESPONDING to any aggression within the defensive pact with expelling of the aggressor

RESPONDING to any aggression from outside the defensive pact with force greater than or equal to that of the aggressor

ADDING that the freedom within the defensive pact is to be defended above all else

STATING WITH EMPHASIS that the entry into the defensive pact of a nation that is viewed as a oppressive or extremist, will be disputed as need be.

This discussion will close on FRIDAY at 13:00 UTC, a poll will be opened at that time for THREE DAYS (till MONDAY)

The Goverment of the Republic of Hippostania strongly supports this proposal, as at the moment we are being threatend by numerous extremist militarist nations.

Frenzland believes it would be wise to first determine exactly what classes a nation as "Extreme".

I can't help but think that this will be used as a means to easily eject "Unwanted" nations from the region.
Unwanted by whom, and why? I have a few ideas.

In any case it would surely be better to aid "Extreme" nations in their political development, rather than just booting them out.

Fair enough, as of now THE NATION OF BACLAV DEFINES;
Under book 9: 'Foreign relations and politics',
Under section a: 'General definitions'
Definition V: 'Extremist nation'

A nation that by means of communication/threat, actions or conduct is viewed by the populace and government of Baclav as oppressive and/or aggressive to it's own and others.

This is BACLAV'S own DEFINITION of an EXTREMIST NATION, YOU or ANY OTHER NATION are NOT EXPECTED or FORCED to DEFINE this as YOUR OWN.
HOWEVER, YOU ARE EXPECTED to ASSUME this DEFINITION as the DEFINITION this RESOLUTION EMPLOYS.

Thus this resolution is a free-to-join defensive pact, intended to protect nations partaking against said 'extremist nations'.

This resolution is not intended to protect the wellbeing and safety of any specific nation within Sermo, rather the wellbeing and safety of any nation that opts to join the defensive pact.


Hereby assuming having appropriately replied and informed.
